Swaptee makes every T-shirt circular. Read here why we do that!
Over the past twenty years, people have started wearing their clothes less often. Combined with a shift to fast fashion, consumers now buy 60% more items and the duration of wearing them decreased with 50%.
Cotton cultivation accounts for more than 2.5 percent of global water use. Water is not an inexhaustible source and many places in the world have to do with water scarcity. Farmland, nature and ecosystems are facing this problem. That is why we need to be more aware of water use. To make one T-shirt, you need 2,700 liters of water. That’s more than 67 showers. A lot, isn’t it?
Our current economy and clothing industry is linearly designed. That is, we make, use and throw away. The transition to a circular fashion industry takes into account the demand of Tee-shirt wearers, the current fashion industry, society and especially the environment. In order to enable a circular world, it is crucial that we make our linear business models circular. We need to reuse our materials.
Swaptee is part of the transition to a new circular fashion industry. We make sure that Tee shirts are worn more often. Wearing clothing more often is one of the most effective ways to reduce the overall impact of the clothing industry.
Swaptee shows that things can be done differently. We make reusable Tees plastic. We do this by making agreements directly with our 100% GOTS certified cotton factory in Portugal and paying a fair price. Because together we want to make all T-shirts circular. That’s our mission.
Swaptee believes that we must act now for a circular world. Swaptee makes Tee shirts worn more often. By wearing Swaptees, the overall impact of the clothing industry is reduced. You reduce the footprint of water, CO2 and plastic waste. On top of this our Tees have a premium fit with a unique softness.
